Qirui Hu

Qirui is doing his Ph.D. thesis work in our laboratory, while enrolled in the Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program of the University of Hawaii. His interests include elastin and fibulin-5 mutations in cutis laxa. Check out his latest paper on the genetic basis of acquired cutis laxa (Hu et al. J Invest Dermatol 126:283-290).

Vishwanathan Hucthagowder, Ph.D.

Vishwa is a Postdoctoral Research Associate. He is interested in discovering novel genes causing cutis laxa using positional cloning and candidate gene studies. His latest publication is available as a preprint at the web site of the American Journal of Human Genetics (http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/AJHG/journal/preprints/AJHG43554 .preprint.pdf) and describes a novel gene for recessive cutis laxa, fibulin-4.

Tammy Kerschner

Tammy is a Research Technician and a study coordinator for our investigations on supravalvular aortic stenosis and cutis laxa. She conducts mutational analysis of the elastin gene in these two diseases.

Carmen Fischer

Carmen is a visiting excange student from the University of Applied Sciences, Mannnheim, Germany. She is spending a 6-month internship investigating fibulin genes as candidates for cutis laxa.
