The Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) is a component of the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS), formerly the GCRC, provides space, nursing, and bionutritional support for clinical research projects conducted with children at Washington University in St. Louis. The current unit is on the 11th floor of St. Louis Children’s Hospital (Suite 11W19) and has exam and interview room space, a procedure area, and a phlebotomy and sample processing area.

Services Available to ICTS Members

  • Six outpatient rooms are available.
  • Routine research nursing services including patient monitoring and phlebotomy.
  • Two long term areas available which include 1 television with Xbox 360 and Playstation systems and games. A second video system is available as well with access to outside channels. An IPad is available.
  • A designated room for cognitive testing.
  • Routine research nursing services including patient monitoring and phlebotomy.
  • Four vital sign monitoring systems which include pulse oximetry.
  • Sample processing and shipping available.
  • Dietary/Bionutrition services are available by appointment
  • Crash cart available on unit.
  • Both digital and mechanical scales available for specific protocol requirements.
  • Portable ECG machine.
  • Other research nursing services (training dependent).

Monday-Thursday 0700-1700

Friday 0700-1600
